ABOUT VKHUTEMAS

VKHUTEMAS (Higher Art and Technical Studios) – schools created in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and other Russian cities after the revolution of 1917. Moscow VKHUTEMAS was formed in 1920 by consolidation of the First and the Second Free State Art Studios (based on the Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture).
